Steve Reynolds: Battled to the End, Passed Away Wednesday

Steve Lost this battle. I met Steve a few times, at two Lyra conferences and the MPS North America Conferences.

He knew his stuff, he will be missed.

Also, there will be a memorial service for him at the AGH Art Gallery in Hamilton on Monday night from 6to 9 PM.

Newton, MA (PRWEB) September 15, 2010

Lyra Research, the digital imaging authority (www.lyra.com), announces the establishment of the Reynolds Family Support Fund to help Lyra Senior Analyst Steve Reynolds and his family in his battle against Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Since 1998, Mr. Reynolds has been one of the prominent faces of Lyra—first as an editor for The Hard Copy Observer and then as a senior analyst for Lyra’s Hard Copy Industry Advisory Service.

Diagnosed in June, Mr. Reynolds is meeting this grim news with the same direct, fearless attitude that he brings to his professional career.

The Reynolds Family Support Fund will help Mr. Reynolds’ family defray medical bills and other expenses during this difficult time. The Reynolds family will put donations of any amount to immediate and direct use. Checks should be made payable to Steve or Tracy Reynolds and can be sent in care of Lyra Research, Inc., P.O. Box 9143, Newtonville, MA 02460-9143.

Please note that donations to this fund are not tax-deductible.

“Steve is a valued member of the Lyra family, and he is highly regarded by his industry colleagues. We wanted to create a way for Lyra and his friends and colleagues to support him and to make his and his family’s life easier during this challenging time. Establishing the Reynolds Family Support Fund is one of the ways that we can help to make sure he has the resources that he needs in his battle against colon cancer,” said Frank Stefansson, CEO and executive vice president of Lyra Research.

Two other ways to provide help:

On Saturday, October 2, in Chicago, IL, Mr. Reynolds’ colleagues and friends will host a 1.5-mile walk and a reception/dinner buffet in his honor to raise money for LIVESTRONG.

During the afternoon prior to the opening of Graph Expo, join Team Centurion (Mr. Reynolds’ fellow bike riders, who participate in an annual LIVESTRONG “century,” or 100-mile ride) and sponsors— AR Advisors, EFI, Lyra Research, Océ, OutputLinks, Ricoh, and Xerox—in a 1.5-mile walk that begins at 4:30 p.m. at The House of Blues in downtown Chicago (please visit http://www.houseofblues.com/venues/clubvenues/chicago/ for directions) and includes stops at two pubs to toast Mr. Reynolds.

At 7:00 p.m., a reception and dinner buffet will be held at the D4 Irish Pub & Café (please visit http://www.d4pub.com/ for directions).

Everyone is welcome to join the dinner regardless of whether they participated in the walk. An RSVP and a $25 minimum contribution to LIVESTRONG are requested.

(Please go to http://lyra6.lyra.com/unitymailimages/researchbriefs/steve%20reynolds%20fundraiser%5B1%5D.pdf for more details about these events and information regarding how to RSVP.) The money that Team Centurion raises in Mr. Reynolds’ honor will go to support LIVESTRONG’s programs and services, which inspire and empower people affected by cancer.
